DGP Swain Approves Scholarship for Police Ward Excellence INR 19.62 Lakh
In a bid to uplift spirits and foster a sense of competitiveness among the children of active police personnel, Director General of Police R. R. Swain has approved a noteworthy scholarship totaling INR 19.62 lakh for 290 dependents of serving police personnel.As per the directives from Police Headquarters, scholarships worth INR 3,15,000 have been granted to 31 wards of active police personnel who achieved a commendable 80% and above in their graduation and post-graduation examinations during the academic session of 2022-23.
Additionally, a substantial sum of INR 18,000 has been allocated to a student securing an outstanding 94.5% in MBA, while INR 12,000 each has been sanctioned for 12 wards excelling with scores above 80% in various post-graduation examinations.
Likewise, INR 8,500 each has been awarded to 18 wards who demonstrated excellence by securing over 80% in diverse graduation examinations.In accordance with another Police Headquarters Order, an impressive scholarship fund of INR 16,47,000 has been sanctioned for 259 wards of serving police personnel who achieved scores surpassing 80% in the 12th-grade annual examination during the academic session of 2022-23.

Further, a reward of INR 7,200 each has been bestowed upon 78 wards of active police personnel who attained an exceptional 90% and above in the 12th-grade annual examination, and INR 6,000 each for 181 wards achieving scores between 80% and 90%.Funded from the Central Police Welfare Fund, these meritorious scholarship programs by the Jammu and Kashmir Police encompass support for the education of wards belonging to serving or deceased police personnel and Special Police Officers (SPOs) who excel across various academic levels.
Special recognition is also accorded to students exhibiting outstanding performance in colleges, universities, and technical courses.Furthermore, incentives are provided to the wards who successfully navigate competitive exams such as UPSC, JKPSC, NEET, NET, and CSIR, reinforcing the commitment to acknowledging and supporting academic excellence within the police community.
