DGP Discusses Security-Measures in Awantipora South Kashmir with Victor Force Officials

Director General of Police (DGP) Rashmi Ranjan Swain recently paid a visit to Victor Force Awantipora in South Kashmir, where he was warmly welcomed by the General Officer Commanding (GoC) Victor Force, Major General Balbir Singh, alongside other esteemed army officers.

Accompanying the DGP of Jammu and Kashmir were Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Law & Order Vijay Kumar, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South Kashmir Range Rayees Mohammad Bhat, and Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Training & Policy Manoj Kumar Pandith.

The focal point of the visit centered on a comprehensive discussion about the security landscape, prevailing challenges, and strategies to sustain the existing atmosphere of peace in South Kashmir.

Major General Balbir Singh, GoC Victor Force, presented a detailed overview of the current security situation in the region. He underscored the collaborative efforts of the Army, Police, and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) in upholding peace and order. Additionally, he elucidated on measures to thwart any attempts to revive terrorism or the terror eco-system. This involved a strategic emphasis on area domination and conducting regular operations.

DGP Swain commended the collective efforts of the security forces and the effective synergy between them. However, he stressed the need for further improvement, urging a step-up both at the staff and operational levels. Swain acknowledged the hard-earned peace in Jammu and Kashmir, achieved through the sacrifices of numerous officers and jawans from all security forces. He emphasized the importance of safeguarding, enhancing, and solidifying this peace for the long term.
