DGP Approves Rs 19 Lakh Scholarship for Police Families
In a significant move, Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police (DGP), R R Swain, has approved scholarships amounting to approximately ₹19 lakh for the benefit of 374 wards associated with the police force. These scholarships, issued under various orders from the Police Headquarters, aim to support serving, retired, and deceased police personnel and their families.
Meritorious Achievements Rewarded
Under a specific order, a meritorious scholarship fund of ₹17,42,000 has been allocated to 344 wards of serving police personnel. The criteria for receiving this scholarship include securing 80 percent and above marks in the class 10th annual examination during the academic session 2022-23. Notably, individual awards of ₹6,000 and ₹4,000 have been granted to 183 wards and 131 wards, respectively, based on their academic performance.
Top Performers Shine
Among the top performers listed, Tabasum Amin, daughter of HC Mohammad Amin Bhat, secured an outstanding 99.2 percent marks. Other high-achievers include Mohammad Fahd Mir, Rabiya Mir, Nimreesa Nisar, and Numair Javaid Noori, all demonstrating remarkable academic prowess with 98.8 percent marks.
Supporting Deceased Personnel’s Families and Retired Personnel
In a compassionate gesture, scholarship funds amounting to ₹1.3 lakh have been sanctioned for 26 wards of deceased Police personnel. Additionally, four wards of retired Police personnel have received financial support, with a focus on academic excellence. Sehdev Sharma, Kifayat Rehman, Rizwan Bashir, and Faizan Hamid Rah have been recognized for their achievements.
