Deputy Commissioner Doda reviews performance of Health Sector
DODA, AUGUST 02: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, conducted a comprehensive review meeting of the health sector at the conference hall of the DC office complex in Doda.
Chief Medical Officer Doda, Dr. Om Kumar, presented a detailed overview of the health sector’s status. The meeting included discussions on the vacancies in various roles within the health department and the manpower situation of specialists and medical officers at CHC Bhaderwah, Thathri, and Gandoh. Additionally, the status of health institutions in the blocks of Bhaderwah, Assar and Ghat was reviewed.
During the meeting, DC Doda was informed of the following health facilities in the district which included 1 AH GMC Doda, 2 CHCs, 1 Trauma Hospital, 13 Primary Health Centers (AAM), 29 NT PHCs (AAM), 163 Sub Centers (AAM), and 2 Mobile Medical Aid Centres. This brings the total number of health facilities in the district to 211.
DC emphasized the importance of dentist availability in health centers and requested the CMO to provide all crucial information regarding these centers across the district.
The meeting also included updates on the availability of doctors and paramedical staff, along with other issues related to health centers. Detailed discussions were held on the HMIS status for the year 2024, the status of surgeries, and other medical operations conducted or being conducted in the district.
The DC directed the CMO Doda to provide a list of all ASHA workers to gather detailed information on delivery issues, institutional deliveries, and home deliveries. Information on the availability of ambulance services for emergency situations was also requested.
Further discussions covered the RCH portal registration status for pregnant women (PW) and children, aiming for 100 percent registration within a week.
The DC stressed the need for prompt and efficient registration processes to ensure comprehensive health coverage.
The DC also stressed the enhancement of institutional deliveries and the vaccination and immunization process in cases of home delivery.
The DC issued directives to ensure the timely availability of medical services and improve the overall health infrastructure in the district.
The meeting was attended by CPO Doda Manesh Kumar, CMO Doda Dr. Om Kumar, District Immunization Officer Dr. Varsha Sharma, BMOs, and representatives from the health department.
