Department of Zoology GDC Bhaderwah celebrated wildlife week 2023

Bhaderwah, October 09: Department of Zoology Govt. PG College Bhaderwah, in collaboration with Dept. of Botany organised symposium competition and expert lecture under the patronage of principal Dr.Kuldeep K.Sharma and guidence of Dr.Ajaz Ahmed wani Head Dept.of Zoology.

The programme begin with welcome address by Dr. Sandeep Kotwal in which he welcome one and all in the symposium and also highlighted the importance of wildlife.Dr.Wani his adress signifies the importance of celebration of this week and stressed upon the student community to act as an ambassador in the dissemination of message at their respective level regarding the role of these animals for sustainable development.

About five students participated in symposium competition Where asAmjad Latief of 5th sem ,Zubair Ahmed of 5th sem and Aisha of 3rd sem were adjudged ist,2nd and 3rd respectively.Beside Prof. Surinder Parihar Head Dept.of Economic also spoke on the occassion and highlighted the importance of sustainable goals.Dr.Mushtaq Ahmed Head Dept.of Persian stressed upon the students to start from yourself and create awareness at their native places regarding the conservation of wildlife.

The event was judged by Prof.Yaseen Sarwal HOD Chemistry,Prof.Pinky Kotwal Sr.Asst.Prof .Physics and Isha Slathia Dept.of Zoology The other faculty members who attended the programme are Prof. Shahbaz Ahmed,Prof.Ankush Kumar, Dr.Sanjay Kumar , ,Dr.Sangeeta Devi and Rifat and Abrar representatives of wildlife dept.of Chenab division Kishtwar.

This week is celebrated every year from 2nd of Oct to 8th of Oct. in order create awareness regarding the importance of consevation of wild life. It is pertinent to mention here that the event is sponsored by Department of Wildlife protection ,Chenab Division Kishtwar.The whole programme was coordinated by Dr.Neelam Saba Asst.Professor Zoology.
