In a groundbreaking effort to promote education and rehabilitation among incarcerated individuals, the Department of Computer Science & IT at Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu, in collaboration with the Prisons Department, J&K, successfully conducted an e-learning course within the premises of the district jail in Bhaderwah. The e-learning course brought the power of education directly to the inmates, providing them with opportunities to pursue higher education and acquire valuable skills while serving their sentences. The initiative demonstrates the university’s commitment to creating educational opportunities for all, regardless of an individual’s circumstances.
Dr. Jatinder Manhas, Head of the Department of Computer Science & IT, expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, emphasizing the transformative power of education and the importance of extending educational outreach to incarcerated populations.
