Cyber Investigation Unit Kishtwar recovers more than 12 Lakh in online fraud cases

Cyber Investigation Unit of Kishtwar Police in a significant development, has recovered more than 12 lakhs in many online fraud cases.

While giving in the details, kishtwar police stated the Cybercrime Investigation Unit of J&K Police, under the supervision of SSP Kishtwar Sh. Javaid Iqbal Mir-JKPS,* and led by PSI Moin Khan, has successfully recovered ₹12,24,966 (Twelve lakh twenty-four thousand nine hundred sixty-six) in various online fraud cases.

This significant recovery highlights the unit’s proactive approach in tackling the growing menace of cybercrimes, including: Mobile recharge scams,

  • Fraudulent app installations, and
  • Deceptive Telegram links targeting Aadhaar updates.

Since its establishment, the Cybercrime Investigation Unit Kishtwar has recovered a cumulative amount of ₹72,51,095 (Seventy-two lakh fifty-one thousand ninety-five), reflecting its unwavering commitment to protecting the citizens of Kishtwar against cyber threats.
