CRPF officer martyred in Udhampur Terrorist attack
…..(VoM) As per reports surfaced, terrorists attacked a joint party of the CRPF and the Special Operations Group (SOG) in Udhampur district of Jammu Kashmir on Monday afternoon. The attack took place at around 3:30pm, this noon.
The terrorists opened the fire on joint party of the CRPF and the Special Operations Group (SOG) near Cheel area of Duddu Basantgarh, Udhampur, in which one CRPF officer belonging to 187th battalion attains martyrdom, identified as CRPF inspector kuldeep Singh.
After the exchange of fire, area has been cordoned off and search operation has been initiated, as per Sources. Additional reinforcement has been sent to track and neutralize the terrorists.
Captain Deepak Singh, an army officer, was martyred in attack on August 14 during an encounter in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir. The incident occurred in a forested area during a cordon-and-search operation in the Shivgarh-Assar belt. A civilian was also injured in the exchange of fire. Captain Singh sustained fatal gunshot wounds while engaged in the operation.
