SRINAGAR: The Congress is set to join the Omar Abdullah-led government in Jammu and Kashmir, with the party preparing to give a ministerial berth to a young leader from Jammu to represent its interests in the Council of Ministers.

The meeting between Rahul Gandhi and Omar Abdullah has paved the way for the political arrangement, signalling a new phase in Congress–National Conference relations.

The decision is expected to bring Congress into the government, with a young face from Jammu being considered for a place in the Council of Ministers.
