Cluster University of Jammu and BBIA Join Hands to Strengthen Industry-Academia Interface

Jammu, July 15, 2026: In a significant step towards bridging the gap between academia and industry, the Cluster University of Jammu (CLUJ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) today.

The agreement aims to foster a collaborative ecosystem focused on skill development, technological up-gradation, and enhanced employability for students.

The MoU was signed in the esteemed presence of Sr. Prof. K. S. Chandrasekar Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, along with other key dignitaries including  Prof. Twinkle Suri, Dean Academic Affairs, Ms. Ankur Mahajan, Registrar, Cluster University of Jammu in presence of  Prof. Satinder Kaur, Dean Research Studies, Deans of Schools, Prof. Vishal Sharma, DSW, Mr. Nagesh Jamwal, Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer, Dr. Shafia Saleem, Director Extension and Outreach and Administrative Officers of Cluster University of Jammu. 

From the industry side, the event witnessed the participation of Mr. Tarun Singla, President BBIA, and Mr. Viraaj Malhotra, Senior Vice President BBIA alongside Secretary BBIA and other executive members of the Association.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. K. S. Chandrasekar reaffirmed the university’s commitment to nurturing industry-ready talent and highlighted that this partnership is a vital step towards equipping students and faculty with cutting-edge skills.

Mr. Tarun Singla, President BBIA highlighted that under this partnership, both parties will work towards creating a robust Industry-Academia Interface by leveraging each other’s strengths and expertise.

The collaboration outlines several key areas of cooperation, including industrial and exposure visits for students to local industrial units, corporate immersion and leadership development programs, and joint incubation initiatives in technology and social ventures.

The MoU was formally signed by the Registrar, CLUJ, and the President, BBIA, marking a commitment to jointly develop a workforce that meets the dynamic needs of the industrial sector.

Additionally, both organizations will collaborate on organizing interactive sessions and consultancy services to local industrial units on mutually agreed terms.

Cluster-University Jammu Staff Face Discrimination

As part of the agreement, BBIA will play a crucial role in providing valuable inputs to CLUJ on teaching and training methodologies to ensure the curriculum aligns with industry requirements. BBIA will also facilitate industrial training programs for both CLUJ students and faculty. In reciprocation, CLUJ will facilitate faculty and student visits to BBIA member industries for exposure, provide its labs and workshops for hands-on training of learners, and act as an academic partner for providing consultancy services.

The MoU also includes provisions for joint workshops, skill-based programs with high employability potential, and regular coordination meetings at both executive and operational levels to ensure smooth implementation.

The collaboration is initially set for a period of two years, with a provision for review and extension based on outcomes and placements.

The partnership underscores a mutual commitment to developing competent human resources and fostering an environment of innovation and mutual growth for the benefit of the student community and the regional industry.
