Chandrababu Naidu’s Judicial Remand Extended Amid Ongoing Skill Development Corporation Scam Case
In a significant legal development, the judicial remand of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu has been extended by a local court until October 19 in connection with the Skill Development Corporation scam case. This marks the third extension of Mr. Naidu’s remand, as the previous extension came to an end on Thursday. Alongside this decision, the court has scheduled hearings for Mr. Naidu’s bail plea and the petition submitted by the Andhra Pradesh Police CID, seeking his custody, for Friday.
High-Stakes Legal Battle Unfolds
Representing the CID in court, Additional Advocate General P Sudhakar Reddy passionately argued for an additional five-day police custody for Mr. Naidu. The CID believes that Mr. Naidu failed to fully cooperate with investigators during the initial two-day custodial questioning conducted on September 23 and 24.
The Allegations and Their Impact
The saga began on September 9 when Mr. Naidu was arrested on charges of misappropriating funds from the Skill Development Corporation. These alleged financial misdeeds are said to have resulted in a staggering loss of over Rs 300 crore to the state exchequer, sending shockwaves throughout Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape.
As this legal battle intensifies, it draws the attention of citizens, legal experts, and political analysts alike, all closely monitoring the outcome and its potential ramifications.
