CBI Makes Further Arrests in Sandeshkhali ED Assault Case
Sources have confirmed that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended three more individuals in connection with the Sandeshkhali ED assault case. The arrested individuals are identified as Mafujar Molla, Sirajul Molla, and Sheikh Alomgir, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to six. The investigation is ongoing.
Crucial Arrests Shed Light on Complex Case
These recent arrests mark a significant development in the Sandeshkhali ED assault case, providing insights into the intricate network surrounding the incident. The individuals apprehended are believed to have links to expelled TMC leader Shahajahan Sheikh, who was previously detained in connection with the same case.
Legal Proceedings and Supreme Court Intervention
Following the attack on ED officials, which prompted an FIR and subsequent CBI investigation, the Supreme Court declined to interfere with the Calcutta High Court’s directive for a CBI probe into the Sandeshkhali matter. The agency has stated that all the accused will be presented before the magistrate for further legal proceedings.
The CBI reaffirms its dedication to swiftly and decisively addressing criminal activities, particularly those targeting law enforcement officers. As the investigation progresses, the agency remains committed to collaborating with relevant authorities to ensure justice is served and uphold the rule of law.
Further Investigations and Summons
In continuation of the investigation, the CBI has summoned nine individuals, including a close aide of the main accused, Shahjahan Sheikh, in connection with the ED assault case. Shahjahan is accused not only of orchestrating the attack on the ED team but also of various other criminal activities, including land grab and extortion, as alleged by multiple women in the Sandeshkhali area.
Community Outcry and Allegations
The women of Sandeshkhali have voiced grievances against Shahjahan and his associates, accusing them of land grab, sexual assault, and other atrocities. Their protests highlight the gravity of the situation and the urgency to address the alleged crimes committed by Shahjahan and his cohorts.
