
Bovine Smuggling Bid Foiled by Poonch Police
A vigilant team of Police Station Poonch successfully foiled a bovine smuggling attempt during routine naka checking at Chandak. During the operation, the police intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK02BE/1961 which was found to be transporting a bovine animal illegally.

Upon inspection, one bull was rescued from the vehicle. The vehicle used for the illegal transportation has been seized on the spot and the driver namely Mushtaq Ahmed s/o Jalal Din r/o Loran has been arrested.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 89/2025 under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) has been registered at Police Station Poonch, and further investigation is underway.
District Police Poonch is committed to curbing the menace of bovine smuggling and ensuring strict enforcement of the law. We appeal to the general public to cooperate with police and report any suspicious activity to help maintain peace and order in the region.
