BJP Releases Poll Manifesto For Jammu Kashmir Assembly Elections

On Friday, Home Minister Amit Shah launched the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) manifesto for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir elections. The manifesto, referred to as the “Sankalp Patra,” outlines a series of promises aimed at boosting employment, providing financial assistance, and developing infrastructure across the region.
Agriculture: To support the state’s farmers, the manifesto promises ₹10,000 under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. Additionally, electricity rates for agricultural activities will be reduced by 50%.
Employment: A key focus of the manifesto is job creation, with a pledge to generate 5 lakh employment opportunities for the youth. The BJP also assures a transparent and fair recruitment process.
Education: Under the Pragati Shiksha Yojana, college students will receive a travel allowance of ₹3,000 per year. The manifesto also proposes adding 1,000 new seats in medical colleges to enhance the educational infrastructure.
Social Welfare: The manifesto promises ₹18,000 annually to the senior-most woman in every household under the Maa Samman Yojana. Ujjwala beneficiaries will receive two free cylinders each year. The Atal Housing Scheme will provide land at no cost to landless beneficiaries, while pensions for old age, widows, and those with disabilities will be tripled.
Infrastructure: The BJP plans to complete all major tunnel projects, construct 10,000 km of new rural roads, and introduce metro services in Jammu and Srinagar.
Healthcare: The Ayushman Bharat Sehat Yojana will increase healthcare coverage by ₹2 lakh, adding to the existing ₹5 lakh coverage.
Other Initiatives: The manifesto also addresses the rehabilitation of displaced people, the renovation of Hindu temples, and transforming Jammu and Kashmir into a prominent tourist destination.
