BJP Fact-Finding Team Submits Report on Belagavi Incident Involving Tribal Woman; Strongly Criticizes Karnataka Govt
JP Nadda, the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), disclosed on Monday that he has received the report compiled by the party’s fact-finding unit, specifically formed to investigate the grievous incident perpetrated against a tribal woman in Belagavi, Karnataka.
Nadda shared on ‘X’ platform, stating, “Received the report by BJP Fact-Finding Team, constituted to inquire about the heinous atrocity committed against a tribal woman in Karnataka’s Belagavi.”
Expressing dissatisfaction with the Congress-led Karnataka government, Nadda criticized, “The state government has been completely inept in ensuring women’s safety and maintaining law and order.
BJP will continue to raise the voice of the people to make sure that they get their due rights.”
Earlier in the day, BJP MP Sunita Duggal, a part of the fact-finding team, spoke to ANI regarding the Belagavi incident, emphasizing the party’s dedication to women’s issues.
She stated, “The BJP has always been serious about women’s issues, especially PM Modi, whom the women of this country consider as their guardian…We went to the incident spot in Belagavi…We spoke to the victim as well and gathered information from the police. We have prepared the report accordingly.”
Following the shocking incident involving the stripping, parading, and assault of a 42-year-old woman tied to an electric pole in Belagavi, a fact-finding committee from the Bharatiya Janata Party visited the area on Saturday to gather firsthand information.
The team, which included women MPs Aprajita Sarangi, Sunita Duggal, Ranjeeta Koli, Locket Chatterjee, and BJP National Secretary Asha Lakra, probed the incident.
Reportedly, the assault on the woman occurred after her son eloped with another woman. Seven individuals have been arrested in connection with this appalling incident in Karnataka’s Belagavi district.
