Meanwhile, the Baloch Human Rights Council (BHRC) submitted a memorandum during the 55th session of the UN Human Rights Council, urging international intervention in Balochistan’s human rights situation. According to BHRC, over 500 individuals, including students, teachers, and writers, have disappeared in Balochistan in the past year, attributing these disappearances to Pakistan’s intelligence agencies.
The memorandum underscored the urgent need for UN intervention to investigate the atrocities committed in Balochistan, including abduction, torture, and the dumping of mutilated bodies by armed groups. It called for ensuring the dignity and safety of Baloch lives without fear of enforced disappearance.
