ATS Arrests Two Bangladeshi Nationals in Navi Mumbai
The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has taken action by arresting two Bangladeshi nationals in Navi Mumbai for allegedly residing illegally in India. The individuals, both 24 years old, were apprehended on Friday from Khidukpada village in Nadve, Panvel.
Discovery During Inspection: ATS Finds Violation in Khidukpada Locality
During an inspection of Khidukpada, an ATS team discovered the two individuals living in a chawl. Subsequent questioning revealed that they were unable to provide any valid documents for their entry into the country. Despite having Aadhaar cards, voter ID cards, and driving licenses in their possession, the lack of proper entry documents led to their arrest.
Legal Action Taken: Case Registered Under Passport Rules and Foreigners Act
In response to the illegal stay, a case was registered against the individuals on Saturday under the Passport (Entry into India) Rules-1950 and the Foreigners Act. The local police are now conducting an investigation to uncover details about their activities and potential connections to illegal immigration networks.
