
Army Vehicle Accident In Doda; Death Toll Rises to 10
SRINAGAR: The death toll of army soldiers has risen to, and as many were injured after an Army vehicle plunged into a deep gorge at Khannitop on the Bhaderwah–Chamba road in Doda district on Thursday morning, officials said.
An official said that the Army’s Casper vehicle fell into the gorge near Khannitop while a team was heading for an operation earlier in the day.
He said the vehicle went down around 400 metres from the road, resulting in the death of 10 soldiers and injuries to 10 others. “The injured were shifted to SDH Bhaderwah, from where they were airlifted to the Army’s Command Hospital in Udhampur for specialised treatment,” he said.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed grief over the accident and conveyed condolences to the bereaved families.
Meanwhile, Manoj Sinha expressed grief over the loss of lives, saying the entire nation stands united with the bereaved families in solidarity and support.

“Deeply saddened at the loss of lives of 10 of our brave Indian Army soldiers in an unfortunate road accident in Doda. We will always remember the outstanding service and supreme sacrifice of our brave soldiers. My deepest condolences to the grieving families,” he said in a post on X.
He further said that in this moment of profound sorrow, the entire nation stands united with the bereaved families in solidarity and support. “Ten injured soldiers have been airlifted to the hospital. I have directed senior officials to ensure the best possible treatment. Praying for their speedy recovery,” he said.
