Are Iran-Pakistan Borders Still Open for Bilateral Trade? What Iranian Ambassador To Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam Said !!

Are Iran-Pakistan Borders Still Open for Bilateral Trade? What Iranian Ambassador To Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam Said !!

ISLAMABAD, October 26, 2026 (VoM News): Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, has clarified that Iran has not imposed restrictions on exports to Pakistan, including liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), saying disruptions in bilateral trade are linked to Pakistan’s import procedures.

In a statement, Moghadam said Iran’s borders with all neighbouring countries remain open and described the closure of borders with Pakistan as contrary to the interests of both countries.

He said changes in Pakistan’s E-Form procedure for imports from Iran had left traders unable to dispatch cargo across the border. Consultations between the two sides are underway to resolve the issue, he added.

The ambassador also said several hundred trucks carrying LPG had crossed the Rimdan border into Gabd, on the Pakistani side, but remained there for weeks without being unloaded or cleared. The delay, he said, had further complicated the movement of goods and disrupted bilateral trade.

Moghadam stressed that cross-border commerce was an important component of agreements reached between the two countries at the highest levels and served the interests of both nations.
