Anurag Thakur to Contest from Hamirpur in Upcoming Lok Sabha Elections
Union Minister Anurag Thakur has announced his decision to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from the Hamirpur parliamentary constituency. This decision marks his continued commitment to the region, having won the last four elections from the same constituency.
Dispelling Rumors of Constituency Change
Addressing the media, Thakur clarified that rumors about his shift to another constituency were baseless. He emphasized the strong bond he shares with the people of Hamirpur, who have consistently shown him immense love and affection.
Developmental Achievements in Bilaspur
Highlighting his tenure as a Member of Parliament, Thakur pointed out the significant developmental projects that have benefited Bilaspur. These include the establishment of the Hydro Engineering College, the construction of the Kiratpur-Manali four-lane road, the Bhanupali-Bilaspur railway line, and other central schemes worth thousands of crores.
Confidence in BJP’s Victory in 2024 Polls
Expressing confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s prospects, Thakur stated that the party would not only be voted back to power in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls but also expected to secure more seats than in the 2019 elections.
