Anantnag Police Crack Multiple Theft Cases, Arrest 5, Recover Stolen Goods

In a major breakthrough, Anantnag Police have successfully resolved multiple theft cases, leading to the arrest of five individuals from the Kokernag area. The suspects were apprehended following a technical lead developed by a special team in collaboration with the ESU Anantnag.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohd Imran Hajam, son of Mohd Shaban from Wan Devalgam; Nasir Ahmad Dar, son of Showkat Dar from Tangpawa Kokernag; Adil Hussain Dar, son of Ali Mohd Dar from Nagam; Shabir Ahmad Wagay, son of Gh Hassan from Nagam Kokernag; and Arshid Hussain Rather, son of Mohd Akbar from Sultanpora Pattan.
Upon their arrest, the police recovered a significant amount of stolen property from the suspects, including five gold coins, five gold rings, four pairs of earrings, one pendant set, one gold chain, and one gold necklace with a pendant.
In addition, three mobile phones and cash totaling ₹36,000 were also seized. Two vehicles used in these crimes were confiscated as well.
The cases have been registered under FIR No. 83/2024 and FIR No. 05/2024 at Police Station Kokernag. The investigation is currently ongoing, with the police working to determine if there are any additional accomplices or related incidents.
The local community has expressed their appreciation for the swift action taken by the police in cracking these cases. Authorities continue to urge residents to report any suspicious activities, emphasizing that community cooperation is vital in maintaining safety and security throughout the district.
