Air India Extends Flight Suspension to Tel Aviv Amid Israel-Hamas Conflict
Amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, Air India has extended the suspension of its scheduled flights to and from Tel Aviv. The airline had initially suspended services until October 14, and it has now pushed the resumption date to October 18. This decision reflects the safety concerns and challenges posed by the volatile situation in the region.
Chartered Flights for Evacuation
While scheduled flights remain suspended, Air India will continue to operate chartered flights to bring back Indian citizens as needed. The airline has been actively participating in Operation Ajay, a government-led effort to facilitate the return of Indians wishing to come back from Israel.
Normal Flight Schedule
Air India typically operates five weekly flights from the national capital to Tel Aviv, with services on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. However, the suspension of these flights highlights the impact of the ongoing conflict on air travel in the region.
Conflict Between Israel and Hamas
The extension of the flight suspension comes as Israel has launched a significant counter-offensive in response to attacks on its cities by Hamas. The situation remains complex, and safety is a paramount concern for airlines and governments alike.
As the conflict unfolds, Air India remains committed to the welfare and safety of its passengers and continues to adapt its flight schedule accordingly.
