Air-Conditioning Allowed for Chandrababu Naidu in Prison
A local court in Rajamahendravaram has granted permission for air-conditioning in the prison cell of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, who is currently incarcerated for his alleged involvement in the Skill Development Corporation Scam case. A petition was filed by a team of lawyers representing Chandrababu Naidu in the Vijayawada ACB Court, seeking air-conditioning facilities for the former Chief Minister based on a report from doctors at the Government General Hospital in Rajamahendravaram. The doctors recommended a cooler environment to prevent the rapid aggravation of his skin condition. Failure to provide this could lead to irreparable loss and hardship for Chandrababu Naidu, according to the appeal. Despite being in stable health, the court approved the request for air-conditioning more than a month after his detention.
Chandrababu Naidu’s Detention and Case Details
Chandrababu Naidu is currently in judicial remand at the Rajamahendravaram central prison. He faces allegations of misappropriating funds from the Skill Development Corporation, resulting in a purported loss of over ₹300 crore to the state exchequer.
