Accident on Samruddhi Expressway Claims 12 Lives, 23 Injured
A speeding mini-bus collides with a container, resulting in 12 fatalities and 23 injuries on Maharashtra’s Samruddhi Expressway.
In the early hours of Sunday, a tragic accident unfolded on Samruddhi Expressway, formerly known as Aurangabad in Maharashtra, claiming the lives of at least 12 people and leaving 23 others injured. The accident involved a speeding mini-bus and a container, with a total of 35 passengers aboard.
The incident occurred around 12.30 am in the Vaijapur area of the expressway, which is situated approximately 350 kilometers from Mumbai. It was reported that the bus driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to a collision with the container from behind.
Among the 12 individuals who lost their lives in the accident, there were five men, six women, and a minor girl. Meanwhile, the 23 injured passengers were promptly transported to a government hospital for medical attention.
This tragic accident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for vigilant driving, especially on expressways and highways.
