The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) orchestrated a ‘Jail ka Jawab Vote Se’ walkathon in the national capital, rallying support for Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, currently incarcerated in Tihar Jail in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. Leading the event were prominent AAP figures like MP Sanjay Singh and Minister Gopal Rai, drawing substantial participation from party members and backers.
Chanting slogans like “Jail ka Jawab Vote Se” and “Arvind Kejriwal Zindabad,” attendees voiced their discontent over Kejriwal’s arrest, denouncing it as unjust and politically motivated. Gopal Rai criticized the ruling BJP-led NDA at the Centre for what he deemed a tyrannical act. Meanwhile, Sanjay Singh appealed to the public to consider Kejriwal’s service to Delhi’s residents and urged them to respond to his incarceration with votes on May 25.
With all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi slated to poll in the sixth phase on May 25, the AAP’s event underscores the political fervor surrounding Kejriwal’s arrest and its potential impact on the upcoming elections.
