
Miraj Cinemas pays tribute to its Managing Director, Shri Bhuvanesh Mendiratta
Mumbai, June 4, 2026: Miraj Entertainment Ltd. announces, with profound grief and a heavy heart, the untimely passing of its Managing Director, Shri Bhuvanesh Mendiratta. He left for his heavenly abode on the afternoon of June 2, 2026, following a sudden brain stroke. Born on November 18, 1982, he lived a life defined by purpose, discipline, and a deep love for the business of cinema. His passing has come as a shock to everyone who knew him — at Miraj, across the industry, and beyond. We have lost a leader, a mentor, and for many of us, simply BM Sir.
His association with Miraj Cinemas spanned over 13 years, and during that time, there was no part of the company he did not touch, shape, or strengthen. He came in as an operational leader, grew into the role of Chief Operating Officer, and was elevated to Managing Director in May 2025. At every stage, his contribution went far beyond his designation. He built teams, fixed systems, set standards, and carried this organisation’s culture on his shoulders — quietly, consistently, and without ever seeking recognition. With 20-plus years of experience across leading names in hospitality and entertainment, he brought a rare combination of professional depth and personal warmth to everything he did. He had a vision for Miraj Cinemas that went beyond what most people saw in us — and he had just begun to bring that vision fully to life.

Mr Madan Paliwal, Founder & CMD, Miraj Group, said, “Bhuvanesh was the heart of Miraj Cinemas. He understood every part of this business and cared about every person in it. We had only just begun what we believed would be a long and defining chapter together. His loss is irreparable — for the company, for the industry, and for all of us who had the privilege of working alongside him.”
India’s cinema exhibition industry has lost one of its finest. A builder, a thinker, an operator who truly understood both the screen and the soul of this business. He was a guide to many, a mentor to more, and a quiet, steady presence who made everyone around him feel that things would be all right.
Miraj Cinemas will continue to build on the foundation he helped create. While his vision will continue to guide us, his absence will be deeply felt across the organisation for years to come.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
