SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved an 18 per cent increase in the maximum permissible fare for various categories of commercial passenger vehicles across the Union Territory.

According to a notification issued by the Transport Department, the revised fare structure will apply to big buses, medium and mini buses, taxis, maxi cabs, tourist cabs, auto-rickshaws, and Tata Magic vehicles.

The order has been issued under the Motor Vehicles Act and partially modifies an earlier notification dated March 19, 2021.
