Following the Remarks of Pawan Khera, Assam Police Lokking For Him At His House
The political pressure took its elevation when the police reached Pawan Khera’s house, as per reports, following the FIR filed by the Chief Minister’s wife over his remarks in the press conference.
Pawan Khera—who is the chief of Congress’ Media and Publicity Department—made remarks that Chief Minister Himanta Sarma’s wife owns three passports and that the family possesses business interests worth Rs 52,000 crore in the United States.
Following the remarks, Riniki Bhuyan Sarma, wife of the Chief Minister, filed an FIR against Pawan Khera.
As per reports, Pawan Khera was not present at his house when the cops arrived.
On this, the Chief Minister sharply reacted that he came to know from the media that police had conducted a search at his residence, but that he had run away to Hyderabad. The Chief Minister said that the law will take its own course and hinted at filing a defamation case against the Congress leader.
As Assam is undergoing elections on April 09, politics has gone totally mad, with parties rattling each other in a bid to win the election and gain power in the state. The Assam Chief Minister is daringly looking to secure his second term, which could be decided in May when the counting of votes takes place.
