Iran War LIVE Updates March 13 -2026: New Iranian Leader Warns of Continued Attacks as Israel Launches Fresh Strikes on Tehran

Iran War LIVE Updates March 13 -2026: New Iranian Leader Warns of Continued Attacks

Mojtaba Khamenei, the newly appointed Supreme Leader of Iran, has issued his first public statement since succeeding his father Ali Khamenei, who was killed during the ongoing conflict involving United States and Israel.

In his message, Mojtaba Khamenei warned that attacks would continue unless countries hosting U.S. military bases in the region shut them down. The statement comes as the war entered its 14th day, with tensions escalating across the Middle East.

Meanwhile, the Israel Defense Forces announced the start of a new “extensive wave” of strikes targeting Tehran, Iran’s capital. Israeli authorities also issued evacuation orders for parts of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, amid renewed attacks in the region.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees reported that approximately 3.2 million people have been displaced within Iran since the war began on February 28 following U.S. and Israeli strikes.

Iran has continued launching waves of drones and missiles targeting Gulf states, with Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates reporting attacks on various locations.

Saudi Arabia said its air defence systems intercepted eight additional drones targeting central and eastern parts of the country, including areas near Al‑Kharj Governorate and west of the capital Riyadh. Earlier, authorities had already reported destroying 14 drones in previous waves of attacks.

Reports from the Gulf region indicate that several strikes have also affected civilian infrastructure. In some cases, oil facilities were hit in Bahrain and Oman, while drones targeted locations in Dubai and Kuwait, where at least two civilians were reported injured.

Amid the escalating conflict, Donald Trump, president of the United States, said during a White House event that the war in Iran was “coming along very well.” In a separate interview with Fox News, Trump suggested that Mojtaba Khamenei might have been injured during the initial strikes that killed his father but was likely still alive.

Regional leaders across the Gulf Cooperation Council have urged de-escalation as the conflict continues to widen, raising fears of a broader war in the Middle East.

Despite claims by Tehran, attacks in Gulf region targeting more than US assets

By Malik Traina ` Al Jazeera Reporting from Doha, Qatar

Despite that statement we heard from Iran, we’ve seen numerous civil infrastructure being hit or targeted by these retaliatory attacks from Iran.

In Bahrain and Oman, we saw oil infrastructure being hit – fuel tanks. We’ve seen the fire. We’ve seen the sky filled with smoke.

In Dubai, the world’s busiest commercial airport facility was attacked by drones. Also in Kuwait. Residential neighbourhoods in some cases.

In Kuwait last night, we saw two civilians being injured.

And this is what people across the region have been warning about. The escalation of this conflict. Something that nobody here wants to see.

That’s why we’ve seen officials from all of the countries in the GCC call for de-escalation.

Strikes on Tehran continue as war enters 14th day

By Tohid Asadi ~ Al Jazeera

    Reporting from Tehran

Air strikes from the US and Israel have continued on Tehran on the 14th day of the war. Attacks also hit Kashan, Isfahan, Qom and Arak.

The IRGC came out with a statement about their retaliatory strikes, talking about wave 44 of their strikes targeting Israel.

All in all we are looking at a very complicated situation. More than 1,400 people have lost their lives with many residential areas being targeted.

There are reports of drone attacks in Tehran targeting security points and Basij militia. We heard the activation of the air defence system and the sound of drones across the capital.

We are seeing air pollution from burning oil depots. A considerable proportion of Tehran’s residents have evacuated.

Sirens sound at Turkiye’s Incirlik airbase

Sirens have gone off at Turkiye’s Incirlik airbase, located near the southeastern city of Adana, according to Turkish state news agency Anadolu.

The sirens at the airbase, which is a key NATO facility that hosts US troops, went off around 3:25am (0025 GMT) for around five minutes, said the Ekonomim business news website.

There was no immediate official comment on the incident, which took place four days after NATO air defences shot down a ballistic missile in Turkish airspace that it claimed was fired from Iran, the second in five days.
