Suspicious Poisoning: Wife Dies Husband Critical in Rayor Village

In the village of Rayor, within this district, a couple ingested a toxic substance today, and the circumstances surrounding this incident have raised suspicions. Tragically, the wife has succumbed to the poison, while the husband remains in a critical condition.

According to reports, this morning, neighbors discovered both individuals unconscious in their home. Alarmed by their condition, the concerned neighbors promptly contacted their local public representative, who, in turn, alerted the authorities.

The police swiftly responded to the situation, transporting the stricken couple to the District Hospital in Samba. Regrettably, upon their arrival at Samba Hospital, medical professionals declared the woman deceased. The husband’s condition was dire, and he was subsequently referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Jammu after receiving initial medical attention.

The woman who lost her life in this tragic incident has been identified as Babbu Devi, 30 years old, and her husband as Sinka Ram, 34 years old, the son of Tara Ram. Both were residents of Rayor in Samba. Babbu Devi’s body has been placed in the mortuary at the District Hospital in Samba, awaiting a post-mortem examination.

To uncover the reasons behind this fateful decision taken by the couple, the Samba police have initiated an investigation, registering a case under Section 174.
