JKPSC Defers Lecturer and Civil Judge Exams after LoP Sunil Sharma’s Intervention
Jammu, September 19: The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has decided to postpone the scheduled examinations for the posts of Lecturer and Civil Judge (Junior Division). The decision follows appeals from aspirants who had been voicing concerns over insufficient preparation time and overlapping dates of competitive tests.
The matter drew wider attention when Leader of Opposition (LoP) Shri Sunil Sharma raised the issue with the administration and the commission, seeking an immediate review of the examination calendar. Acting on these representations, the JKPSC opted to defer the exams to a later date.
Speaking on the development, Shri Sunil Sharma stressed the need for a student-friendly approach in governance. He remarked that the career prospects of young people in Jammu and Kashmir should never be compromised and assured that he would continue to take up matters related to employment, education, and public welfare.
Candidates preparing for the examinations have welcomed the move, calling it a timely decision that will allow them to prepare better. Several aspirants expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Leader of Opposition in ensuring their concerns were heard and addressed.
The JKPSC is expected to release a revised schedule for the Lecturer and Civil Judge (Junior Division) examinations in the coming days.
