The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a second charge sheet against six individuals in connection with the NEET UG 2024 question paper theft case. The charge sheet was submitted before the Special Court for CBI cases in Patna.
The accused individuals include Baldev Kumar alias Chintu, Sunny Kumar, Ahsanul Haque (Principal of Oasis School, Hazaribagh and City Coordinator of NEET UG 2024), Md. Imtiyaz Alam (Vice-Principal of Oasis School and Centre Superintendent), Jamaluddin alias Jamal (a reporter), and Aman Kumar Singh.
These individuals face various charges under the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including criminal conspiracy (Section 120-B), cheating (Section 420), and theft (Section 380). The charge sheet also includes charges of abetment, criminal breach of trust, and receiving stolen property.
Additionally, the CBI has invoked charges under the Prevention of Corruption Act against Ahsanul Haque and Md. Imtiyaz Alam. As officials responsible for conducting the NEET UG 2024 exam, they allegedly conspired to steal the question paper.
This development follows the earlier filing of a charge sheet on August 1, 2024, against 13 individuals. To date, a total of 48 arrests have been made in connection with the NEET paper leak, and the CBI has shared details of the beneficiary candidates with the National Testing Agency (NTA) for further action.
The investigation is ongoing, with further arrests and revelations expected as the CBI continues to explore all aspects of the case.
