Owais Manzoor, a 21-year-old from Hanjishart village in Handwara, has successfully achieved his lifelong dream of becoming a pilot. After years of hard work, perseverance, and training, Owais has secured a prestigious position with Air India, a feat that fills both his family and community with pride.
His journey to the skies began in the scenic valleys of Kashmir, where Owais completed his early education. He studied at Welkin School in Sopore until the 8th grade before transferring to Handwara Public School to finish his secondary education.
Following his 10th-grade exams, Owais joined Boys Higher Secondary School in Handwara to pursue his 12th-grade studies.
It was during this time that Owais confided in his parents about his ambition to become a pilot. To his relief, his parents fully supported his goals and immediately sent him to Delhi for aviation training.
“My parents were incredibly supportive of my dream,” Owais recalls, “They understood my passion and allowed me to pursue it.”
In Delhi, he undertook ground training, which was just the beginning of his long and rigorous path to becoming a certified pilot. After several years of dedication, commitment, and overcoming challenges, Owais’s dream came true when he was hired by Air India.
Owais’s journey from a small village in Kashmir to the cockpit of a commercial airliner is a testament to his determination and the unwavering support of his family.
His story serves as an inspiration for aspiring youth, especially those from modest backgrounds, to chase their dreams.
