    A fire broke out in the attic of Hotel Lucky Akbar, a five-story structure located near Abdullah Bridge in Srinagar, on August 21 . The incident occurred around 1:40 p.m., prompting a swift response from the local fire department.

    According to Assistant Director Fire Services, Aqib Hussain Mir, the control room received the fire alert and immediately dispatched units from three nearby fire stations to the scene.

    “When we arrived, we found that the attic of the hotel was engulfed in flames. Our firefighters quickly initiated a firefighting operation, which successfully contained the fire before it could spread to other parts of the building,” Mir stated.

    He further confirmed that, fortunately, no lives were lost in the incident, and no injuries were reported.

    The fire was brought under control within a short period, minimizing potential damage to the property. The prompt action of the fire services ensured that the blaze did not escalate, protecting both the hotel’s guests and staff from harm.

    The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and an investigation is currently underway. Officials are assessing the damage to the attic and determining whether any structural issues contributed to the outbreak.

    Residents and tourists in the vicinity expressed relief that the situation was handled efficiently, preventing what could have been a more serious disaster.

    Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any signs of fire hazards to prevent such incidents in the future.
