Health team visits Sarak Marmat; hold awareness session on Leprosy
DODA, July 04 , 2024 : After detection of new Leprosy Case in Village Sarak Marmat, falling under Medical Block Assar, the village hot spot survey has been started in the village by the health team from CMO Office Doda.
On this occasion, on day first an awareness programme regarding Leprosy was organised at Village Sarak, Govt Middle Schools Sarak and Labbar and similarly during 2nd and 3rd day house to house survey shall be conducted and on 6th July 2024 skin examination camp shall be held at AAM Labbar.
Sr Paramedical Supervisor, Mr Surinder Bijayal who was also part of the team, urged the participants to know the strategy to control leprosy and also threw light on NLEP.
He said that highly effective treatment is available to cure leprosy adding that early detection and timely treatment and dosage are essential to eradicate leprosy.
Moreover, along with Leprosy awareness regarding Malaria was also given to general public by the visiting team.
The team comprising of Dr Javed Parray Medical Officer Leprosy, Mr Surinder Singh (Paramedical Supervisor), Krishan Chand (Sr.PMA), Mr Ram Raj (PMA) and Mr Farooq Ahmed (JHI) from Malaria Unit Doda.
