    Key Points:

    1. Four Chinese coast guard ships entered Kinmen’s territorial waters.
    2. Taiwan Coast Guard vessels intervened and drove out the Chinese ships.
    3. Taiwan emphasizes the importance of maritime safety and stability in the region.

According to Taiwan News, four Chinese coast guard ships ventured into Kinmen’s territorial waters before being confronted and driven out by Taiwan Coast Guard vessels. The incursion occurred at 3:30 pm on Monday when Chinese vessels numbered 14608, 14604, 14512, and 14603 entered the area. Taiwan’s Coast Guard swiftly dispatched three patrol boats, leading to the withdrawal of the Chinese vessels by 4:37 pm.

Taiwan’s Coast Guard has observed increased activity by Chinese coast guard ships in the waters south of Kinmen recently. This has prompted continuous monitoring and interception efforts to maintain maritime safety and order. The presence of Chinese ships in these waters is deemed disruptive to cross-strait peace and stability, impacting maritime traffic and safety.

Emphasizing the importance of mutual respect and adherence to maritime norms, Taiwan’s Coast Guard called on China to halt such actions. It reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing maritime laws and expelling any unauthorized vessels from restricted waters to ensure the safety and well-being of both sides.
