NET Rescheduled to Avoid Clash with UPSC Prelims
The National Eligibility Test (NET) has been rescheduled to June 18, announced UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar, to prevent a clash with the UPSC preliminary exam. Originally slated for June 16, the change aims to accommodate candidates’ concerns about overlapping exam dates.
Feedback Spurs Date Change
Responding to feedback from candidates regarding the clash between the NET and UPSC prelims, the National Testing Agency (NTA) and UGC jointly decided to shift the NET to June 18. This adjustment aims to alleviate scheduling conflicts and ensure that candidates have equal opportunities to sit for both exams without compromise.
UGC-NET serves as a crucial evaluation tool for Indian nationals seeking various academic opportunities, including Junior Research Fellowship, assistant professorship appointments, and admission to PhD programs. The decision to reschedule underscores the importance of providing fair and accessible examination conditions for aspiring scholars across the nation.
OMR Mode Ensures Nationwide Consistency
NTA will conduct the UGC-NET in OMR mode across India on a single day, ensuring uniformity and consistency in the examination process. This standardized approach aims to maintain the integrity and reliability of the evaluation, enabling candidates from diverse backgrounds and regions to compete on an equal footing.
