    Cybercrime Investigation Unit Kishtwar of Jammu & Kashmir Police has once again demonstrated its commitment to combating cybercrime by successfully solving a case and recovering online defrauded funds amounting to Rs. 1,29,450 (One lakh twenty-nine thousand four hundred fifty only).

    District Police Kishtwar, while sharing the details, stated that a complaint was received by Tariq Hussain, son of Bashir Ahmed, residing in Nali Bunjwah, Kishtwar. The complaint outlined that Tariq Hussain received a link from the Telegram App regarding the installation of a 3rd party App (ClerTrip) Mobile Application for working from home. Subsequently, Tariq Hussain continuously sent money, amounting to Rs. 1,29,450, and was eventually defrauded.

    During the enquiry into the instant complaint, the Cybercrime Investigation Unit Kishtwar displayed relentless efforts and advanced technical skills, leading to the successful recovery of the defrauded amount of Rs. 1,29,450.

    Throughout the year, the team of the Cybercrime Investigation Unit Kishtwar received various applications regarding online scams. They were able to successfully recover a total amount of Rs. 7,16,446.00 (Seven lakh sixteen thousand four hundred forty-six).

    District Police Kishtwar reiterates its appeal to the general public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious online activities to the National Cybercrime Helpline Number 1930 or the CCIU unit Kishtwar at 9103416100, or PCR Kishtwar at 9906154100, 9103454100. The Police also encourages citizens to lodge complaints online at www.cybercrime.gov.in and www.ceir.gov.in for lost or stolen mobile phones.
