Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ engaged in bilateral discussions with Qatar’s Amir, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad. Despite fruitful talks, a labor pact remained unsigned. Six agreements between ministries and two involving private sectors were confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Among the agreements signed were those regarding culture, news exchange, education, and youth sports cooperation. These underscored the commitment to strengthening ties between the two nations.
Additionally, private entities from both countries established a Joint Business Council, facilitating closer economic collaboration. After concluding his two-day state visit, the Qatari Amir departed, bidding farewell to Nepal’s top officials.
The visit emphasized mutual interests and aspirations for enhanced bilateral relations, although challenges such as the labor pact remained unresolved. The agreements signed represent significant strides in various sectors, laying the groundwork for deeper cooperation between Nepal and Qatar.
