US Ambassador Praises Robust Bilateral Efforts Against Cyber Crimes
US Ambassador Eric Garcetti highlighted the successful collaboration between the United States and India in combating cybercrimes during a special screening of the documentary ‘Bogus Phone Operators’ in New Delhi.
Ambassador Garcetti termed the bilateral ties between the two nations as “a multiplicative relationship,” emphasizing the significance of their cooperation in addressing various challenges, including cyber-security threats.

Ambassador Garcetti elaborated on the synergy between the two countries, emphasizing that when India and the United States come together, it’s not just addition, but multiplication. He cited examples of their collaboration in expanding economic opportunities, addressing health issues, combating climate change, and other challenges.
“It’s not India plus the United States, it’s India times the United States when we get together,” he stated, highlighting the depth of their partnership.

He further underscored the importance of a strong bilateral relationship, stating that it benefits not only the two nations but also the global community. He emphasized that a strong relationship between the United States and India sends a message to the world about their commitment to preserving peace and protecting families.
The documentary showcased successful instances of US-India law enforcement cooperation in combatting cybercrimes, particularly focusing on unraveling a multi-million-dollar scam by impersonators targeting elderly US citizens.
The screening, held at the American Centre in New Delhi, was organized by the US Embassy and Consulates in India, aiming to raise awareness about the world of illegal call centers, cybercrimes, and tech fraud. Ambassador Garcetti encouraged further collaboration and engagement between the two nations to tackle evolving security challenges in the digital age.
The event not only shed light on the existing cooperation but also served as a platform to strengthen ties and foster deeper understanding between the law enforcement agencies of both countries.
