    In a decisive action against illegal mineral extraction and transportation, the police in Kulgam have confiscated five vehicles and arrested five drivers.Seizure and Arrests The police team from Police Post Frisal seized three tractors, one tipper, and one excavator, apprehending four drivers at Gundchahal for their involvement in illegal mineral extraction and transportation.

    The arrested drivers include Mohd Hussain Tantray, Mohd Ashraf Bhat, Shahnawaz Ahmad Lone, Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khanday from Shirpora, and Sartaj Ahmad Mir from Hassanpora, Bijebhara.

    Subsequently, a case under FIR No. 20/2024 has been filed at Police Station Yaripora, encompassing relevant legal sections, with further investigation in progress.

    Public Advisory Authorities urge the public to refrain from participating in illegal mining activities in water bodies, emphasizing compliance with government regulations. Violators will face legal consequences for their actions.
