PM Modi Unveils Rs 5,000 Crore Development Projects in Jodhpur
In a significant move towards the development of Jodhpur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated multiple development projects valued at approximately Rs 5,000 crore in Rajasthan. The initiatives encompass a broad spectrum of sectors, contributing to the region’s growth and infrastructure enhancement.
Boosting Rail Connectivity with New Services and Rail Projects
Prime Minister Modi flagged off two new train services that will improve rail connectivity in Rajasthan. The first is the “Runicha Express,” connecting Jaisalmer to Delhi, enhancing travel options for passengers. The second is a new heritage train linking Marwar Junction to Khambli Ghat, promising a memorable travel experience for tourists and locals alike. Additionally, two essential rail projects were dedicated to the nation, focusing on the development of rail infrastructure. These projects involve the doubling of the 145 km long ‘Degana-Rai Ka Bagh’ rail line and the 58 km long ‘Degana-Kuchaman City’ rail line.
Revamping Healthcare and Education Infrastructure
Several crucial projects in the healthcare and education sectors were inaugurated by the Prime Minister. These include a 350-bed ‘Trauma Centre and Critical Care Hospital Block’ at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Jodhpur, catering to the healthcare needs of the region. Moreover, seven ‘Critical Care Blocks’ were initiated under the Pradhan Mantri – Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM) to enhance medical infrastructure across Rajasthan.
In the realm of education, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art ‘New Terminal Building’ at Jodhpur Airport, a significant boost for regional connectivity. Additionally, the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur campus was dedicated to the nation, underscoring the importance of technological education and innovation. To further uplift the Central University of Rajasthan, foundation stones were laid for a ‘central instrumentation laboratory,’ staff quarters, and a ‘yoga & sports sciences building.’
Investing in Road Development and Future of Rajasthan
Prime Minister Modi also launched several road development projects, collectively valued at about Rs 1,475 crore. The Jodhpur Ring Road initiative is poised to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce vehicular pollution in the city, enhancing the overall quality of life for residents.
These developments are not only transformative for Jodhpur but also hold political significance, as Rajasthan is heading to the polls at the end of the year. The Bharatiya Janata Party aims to make significant strides in the state’s political landscape, seeking to replace the incumbent Congress government and set a new course for the desert state’s progress.
