Palestinian Ambassador Advocates Technocratic Unity for West Bank and Gaza Governance
Husam Zomlot, Palestine’s ambassador to the UK, suggests collaboration with Qatar and Egypt to establish a technocratic Palestinian government overseeing the West Bank and Gaza.
Zomlot assures consultation with all political factions, including Hamas, emphasizing a strictly technocratic approach.
“This initiative aims to unify Palestinians, addressing both their geographical and political concerns,” states Zomlot, underlining the need to prioritize the people over political factions in the evolving political landscape.
Zomlot expresses a responsibility to create a government meeting people’s needs and fostering unity within the Palestinian political system.
On Monday, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh and his government resigned under reform pressures, seen as a potential precursor to the establishment of a national unity government.
