India’s Passport Strength: Slipping to 85th Position
India, with visa-free access to 62 nations, occupies the 85th position on the index, slipping one rank compared to the previous year. Despite offering entry to popular tourist destinations like Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, India lags behind countries such as South Africa, Maldives, Saudi Arabia, China, and Thailand in passport strength.
Global Powerhouses and European Dominance
Following closely, Finland, Netherlands, South Korea, and Sweden share the second spot with access to 193 nations. The United Kingdom, Luxembourg, Ireland, Denmark, and Austria secure the third position with visa-free access to 192 countries. European nations Belgium, Norway, and Portugal claim the fourth spot with entry to 191 nations.
North America and Beyond: Canada and the United States in Sixth Place
Canada, the United States, Poland, and Czechia jointly rank sixth, enjoying visa-free access to 189 countries. This underscores North America’s strong passport power and the ease of international travel for their citizens.
Bottom of the List: Afghanistan with the Weakest Passport
