Child shot leaving school is 100th to be killed in West Bank: Rights group
Neehel Ziad Mohammad Bregheith was shot and killed by Israeli forces as he was leaving school on Wednesday afternoon, the advocacy group Defense for Children Palestine has said.
The 16-year-old was pronounced dead in hospital after being shot in the head by Israeli forces who raided his home town of Beit Ummar, northwest of Hebron, the group said.
Bregheith was the 100th child to be killed by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank since October 7, Defense for Children Palestine added.
The Palestinian Authority’s Health Ministry said that at least 13 Palestinians were injured in Beit Ummar on Wednesday as Israeli forces fired live rounds and rubber bullets.
