Itel Launches Budget-Friendly P55 Series with Dynamic Bar and Memory Fusion in India
On Thursday, February 8, Itel unveiled its latest budget-friendly smartphones, the Itel P55 and Itel P55+, in India. These devices, introduced by the Chinese smartphone brand, feature a unique Dynamic Bar reminiscent of the iPhone, providing quick access to notifications and face unlock capabilities. Powered by the Unisoc T606 SoC and offering up to 256GB of storage, both the Itel P55 and P55+ also incorporate the Memory Fusion technology, allowing users to expand onboard memory by utilizing unused storage space. The smartphones are equipped with 5,000mAh battery units, while the Itel P55+ supports 45W fast charging.
In terms of pricing and availability, the Itel P55 is priced at Rs. 7,999 for the 12GB RAM (including virtual RAM) + 128GB storage variant, and it is available in Aurora Blue, Moonlit Black, and Brilliant Gold colors. On the other hand, the Itel P55+ is priced at Rs. 9,499 for the 16GB RAM (including virtual RAM) + 256GB storage variant, and it comes in Meteor Black and Royal Green colors. The Royal Green variant of the P55+ model is also offered in a Vegan Leather finish. These prices include bank discounts. Both models will be available for purchase on Amazon starting February 13 at 12:00pm IST.
These new smartphones follow the Itel P40 series launched last year, with the Itel P40 initially priced at Rs. 7,699 and the Itel P40+ introduced later at Rs. 8,099.
Regarding specifications, the dual-SIM (Nano) Itel P55 and P55+ run on Android 13 and feature a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, including a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. Under the hood, the devices are powered by an octa-core Unisoc T606 SoC, with the Itel P55+ offering 16GB of RAM (including virtual memory) and 256GB of onboard storage, while the Itel P55 is available in 12GB and 24GB RAM options (including virtual memory) with 128GB storage. Both models boast an AI-backed 50-megapixel dual rear camera setup and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. The Itel P55+ includes a face unlock feature and a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. Connectivity options encompass Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 4G, an audio jack, and a USB Type-C port.
