BSF Arrests 23 Bangladeshi Smugglers in Tripura
The Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended 23 Bangladeshi smugglers in South Tripura, seizing over 6,000 kg of sugar and 17 mobile phones. Acting on specific information about trans-border sugar smuggling, the BSF arrested the smugglers who crossed the international border to receive the consignment from their Indian counterparts. The seized sugar was packed in 125 bags. An increase in trans-border sugar smuggling through the Indo-Bangladesh border in Tripura has been observed in recent years.
