Akasa Air Launches Daily Mumbai-Srinagar Flights, Meeting Rising Demand and Expanding Network
Akasa Air has unveiled its plans to commence daily flights from Mumbai to Srinagar, starting March 1, 2024. This strategic move aims to cater to the increasing demand for air travel between these two cities.
Praveen Iyer, the Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air, expressed his excitement about the development, underlining the picturesque beauty of Srinagar and the potential to stimulate economic activity in the region through a surge in tourism. He underscored Akasa Air’s rapid growth, highlighting the accomplishment of incorporating 20 destinations into its network within a mere 17 months of operation. With over 20 aircraft in service, the low-cost carrier has served more than 6.3 million passengers since its inception in August 2022, establishing connections with 20 cities across India.
The inclusion of Srinagar in its network signifies a noteworthy milestone in Akasa Air’s expansion journey, consolidating its position as a key player in the Indian aviation industry. Prospective travelers can now make flight reservations to Srinagar through Akasa Air’s official website, mobile applications, or popular online travel agencies, with booking options becoming available from February 2, 2024.
