Gujarat Government Shuffles 50 IAS Officers Ahead of Lok Sabha Polls

In preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, the Gujarat government has undertaken a major administrative reshuffle, transferring 50 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, including collectors and district development officers (DDOs). The state General Administration Department issued a notification outlining the transfers, effective immediately.

Notable changes include B A Shah, the Jamnagar district collector, who has been appointed as the new collector of Vadodara district. Aayush Oak, the Surat collector, has been transferred to Valsad, while Sourabh Pardhi, managing director of the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd, is now the new Surat collector.

The shuffle aims to optimize administrative efficiency and bring fresh perspectives as the state gears up for the elections.

Key Appointments and Transfers Across Districts

1. B A Shah: Transferred from Jamnagar to Vadodara district as the new collector.
2. AB Gor: Moved from Vadodara collector to Chief Minister’s Office in Gandhinagar as Officer on Special Duty (OSD).
3. Aayush Oak: Transferred from Surat to Valsad as the new collector.
4. Sourabh Pardhi: Appointed as the new Surat collector from the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd.
5. GT Pandya: Shifted from Morbi to Devbhumi Dwarka district as the new collector.
6. Amit Prakash Yadav: Moved from Navsari to Kheda district as the new collector.
7. Kshipra Agre: Transferred from Valsad to Navsari as the new collector.
8. HK Vadhvaniya: Appointed as additional secretary in the health and family welfare department, Gandhinagar, from Gir-Somnath collector.
9. Stuti Charan: Moved from Chhotaudepur to chief executive officer of the Water and Sanitation Management Organisation, Gandhinagar.
10. Nitin Sangwan: Appointed as the new DDO of Junagadh from the director of fisheries in Gandhinagar.
11. RM Tanna: Transferred from Junagadh municipal commissioner to the DDO of Surendranagar.
12. Om Prakash: Appointed as the new municipal commissioner of Junagadh from DDO of Mehsana.
13. Yogesh Nirgude: Shifted from joint secretary in the home department to collector of Dahod district.
14. Kiran Jhaveri: Transferred from additional commissioner of state tax in Ahmedabad to collector of Morbi district.
15. Neha Kumari: Appointed as the new collector of Mahisagar district from Ahmedabad deputy municipal commissioner.
16. D D Jadeja: Transferred from Morbi DDO to collector of Gir-Somnath district.
