Manish Sisodia Seeks Bail and Custody Parole in Delhi Excise Policy Money Laundering Case
Delhi’s Former Deputy CM, Manish Sisodia, has moved to court, seeking regular bail in the Delhi Excise policy money laundering case.
Additionally, he has requested custody parole for two days each week to meet his ailing wife. Special Judge M. K Nagpal at Rouse Avenue Court issued a notice to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for the application scheduled for February 2, 2024.
The court acknowledged that the first application is for regular bail (second bail application), and the second is for custody parole, allowing Sisodia to meet his wife who is unwell.
Similar applications have been filed in CBI cases. Advocates Mohd. Irshad and Rajat Jain represented Manish Sisodia in court.
Sisodia, implicated in Delhi Excise policy cases by both ED and CBI, has been in custody over his alleged involvement in the Delhi Liquor scam.
The Supreme Court dismissed his bail petition on October 30. His previous bail applications faced rejections by both the High Court and the trial court on May 30 last year.
Despite being granted custody parole to visit his ailing wife on Diwali in November 2023, Sisodia remains in legal proceedings.
Arrested by the CBI on February 26 and subsequently by the ED on March 9, the ED contends that activities linked to Sisodia have generated proceeds of crime amounting to around Rs 622 crore.
